Day 4 (of the 7 Day Mindset Challenge): Stop Worrying & Start Living
My famous line that I tell myself all the time is to “stay out of my head”. For those who know me well, know how analytical I used to be. Queen Analytical. I used to overthink practically everything and I admit, it can really place a drain on “living your best life”! The truth is, worry has never solved any problems. It just exacerbates the issue. In order to have a high quality mindset, I have learned a few tips that I would love to share with you.
1. Declutter your mind through journaling: I have found that jotting down your thoughts helps you to sort through them to make sense of what you are feeling and why. Writing it down will release it from your mind and relieve you of some of the stress.
2. Know your triggers: If you stop to assess the cause of your worry, you will realize that the negative habit of worrying often creeps in when our guards are down. When we are tired. Overwhelmed. Stretched too thin. All of those conditions weaken our minds & spirit, which causes us to accept the act of worrying as if it is productive. When you feel yourself going off of the deep end, UNPLUG. Retreat and be with self. Meditate. Pray. Exercise.
3. Accept those things that you cannot control: Easier said than done, but learning how to say “phuck it” has solved many problems for me and I am sure that it would for you too.
The quality of our life is as much our choice as its direction. Choose wisely.
